Research Project Title:

I am a first year PhD Student in clinical psychology at the University of Calgary. I completed a BSc in Psychology at the University of Ottawa, studying a psychological intervention targeting fear of cancer recurrence in breast cancer patients. In 2018, I graduated with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from McGill University, where my research examined barriers to skin self-examination practices in melanoma skin cancer patients. My research interests include discovering new ways to facilitate healthy behaviours and to help patients cope with chronic illness. I am also interested in learning about best-practice research methods and open science initiatives in psychology. I am currently the Chair of the Student Section of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) and have represented students in psychology on the CPA Board of Directors since 2017.

Career Goals:
My career goal is to establish myself as an academic leader in the health care system in Canada by contributing to the ongoing effort to develop, test, and implement programs that foster health behaviour change. I hope to leverage my leadership skills to contribute to the ongoing effort to provide holistic patient care emphasizing illness prevention as much as treatment.
